It didn’t happen overnight. In fact, it began with two separate dreams, each of us working hard on our own vision, and learning some hard lessons along the way.
Two Paths, Two Passions
Terrell has always had a heart for encouraging others. With a background in ministry, missions, and production, he’s a gifted communicator who can take an idea and bring it to life. Speaking comes naturally to him. Technology? That’s second nature too.
Jennifer, on the other hand, had long dreamed of building a business, something that could grow into an online store and impact people’s lives. With years of experience as a teacher and school administrator, she knows the value of systems, organization, and creating tools that help people succeed. She started with a teaching store, providing lesson plans and activities for children.
The Struggle in the Middle
As we chased our dreams, we ran into our share of challenges. Jen had no shortage of ideas, but technology and content creation often felt overwhelming. Terrell had the creativity and production skills, but struggled to stay organized and keep things consistent.
We both had pieces of the puzzle, but we weren’t putting them together. We were a house divided.
The Turning Point
One day, Terrell came to Jen with an idea: “What if we pray together and start organizing our goals?”
We began searching for a tool that could combine faith-based content with practical planning — something that would not just help us set goals, but actually fulfill them. We looked everywhere. We found nothing.
That’s when the lightbulb went off. Instead of working separately, what if we combined our strengths?Jen could bring structure, organization, and her love for building tools. Terrell could bring creativity, technology, and his heart for speaking life into people.
From Vision to Name
When it came time to name this new venture, we wanted something that reflected both strength and sanctuary.
We landed on Oakhaven — a blend of names from our personal history, but also a symbol with deeper meaning. The oak tree represents strength and longevity, while a haven is a place of refuge and peace.
Together, the name reflects our vision: to help people build strong, rooted relationships and have a home that truly reflects the fulness of God’s purpose for their lives.
Why We Care So Deeply About Marriage & Home
Coming from different backgrounds and cultures, communication wasn’t always easy for us in the early years of our marriage. We had to learn, sometimes the hard way, how to understand one another, work as a team, and create a home that reflected our values.
Now, our sincere desire is to help couples experience the fullness of the blessings of marriage connection, understanding, and joy, even in the middle of life’s challenges.
